A summary will be posted after each week
8/9/08 - Week 2 Summary
Second week was a bit of a mixed bag, some good sessions, some bad and some not at all. All I can say is dam those injuries, the acute kind that you can’t control with training or volume. A crash on the bike damaged my calf with an impact type injury, badly bruised and not been able to bike or run for 3 days has put back the total volume down a bit. A walk and light wind trainer session was all that could be done over the last 3 days of week 2. In the light of this there will be a slight change in the programme with a longer mountain session on the Tuesday of week 3 as this fits in with the programme as a whole.
Apart from the injury, training volume has been manageable but hard to fit in with everyday life and with an ever increasing workload but these are aspects that people have to deal with every day so therefore so will I. One thing that really has come to light is the difference that the amount of volume of sleep per week and how much this can affect your mood and energy level and in turn motivation and recovery. I hope for a better week next week.
1/9/08 - Week 1 Summary
Well the first week went really well at the start was getting all hours done with high motivation to train. As the week went on I could feel my energy increase even though my energy in and out was in deficit so I was burning a lot more than I was eating.
Saturday which was a big planned week end did not go to plan as I had 14 hours of travelling up and down the country so didn't have any time on the Sat and only 3 hours on the Sunday to train but as you might have noticed I have not tried to catch up on the missed sessions. A plan is a plan and one session will effect another session so I will just miss the sat session and carry on with the original plan that I set out. This next week is a bit lower week which will be good as I hope to get 100% in.
Was very pleased with the blood test as they came back to say that I couldn't be any healthier. So that will be good to see what the stress of training will do to the results, I think the iron and cortiol should be down on the re test in 3 weeks time.
Time trials on the bike was standard didn't feel like I had a lot to give so I should see a good improvement on that, and we have the run TT this week.
